Pavitra Kumar

Pavitra Kumar has been training in Carnatic singing since the age of 4. She has won multiple accolades for her performances including the first place award in the Papansam Sivan Competition and has participated in the Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival for 6 years. She is passionate about Carnatic singing and bharatanatyam as well. She has performed in many sabhas as part of India’s December season, including the BrahmaGhana Sabha and Kartik fine arts to name a few.
Her interest in music is also harnessed at school, where she has been a part of the Plano Orchestra for 7 years and served as Vice President at Jasper High School and historian at Plano Senior high school. She is a recent highschool graduate and plans to study business and public policy at the university of Texas at Austin. She also hopes to pursue the Indian classical arts and will continue to learn more about these complex and rich art forms.
